On 15th September, the Save the Family team is swapping their Sunday lie-ins for a good cause! We’re walking 6, (well, closer to 7!) miles—because why not?
Now, 6 miles might not sound like a lot, but on a Sunday morning, it might as well be a marathon! Imagine a group of dedicated (and slightly out-of-breath) staff members trekking through the streets, all for one reason—to support our families.
But we can’t do it alone! We need your sponsorship to make every step count.
Why should you care? Because every penny raised helps us provide essential services to families facing homelessness and tough times. Plus, it’s not every day you get to see us trading our office shoes for walking boots!

Happy International Crochet Day!
This week, the team at Save the Family has been picking up their hooks and getting crafty on their lunch breaks! Some of us are seasoned crochet pros, while others… well, let’s just say we’re untangling a few knots along the way! 
Crafts like crochet are not just a fun hobby – they’re great for our wellbeing too! 
It helps reduce stress, improve focus, and gives us all a sense of accomplishment (even if that accomplishment is just getting the yarn to behave!). 
We’ve got a couple yarn newbies who are sticking with it, even if their “scarf” looks more like a… blob! 
But hey, it’s all about the journey, right?!
Why not give it a go yourself and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of crafting? Who knows, you might just find your next favourite hobby!

Successful Breakfast Networking Event Recap!
This past Friday, Save the Family hosted another one of our fantastic breakfast networking events. We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Chester, alongside representatives from various organisations and charities across Chester and the wider Cheshire area.
Our event offers a wonderful opportunity for like-minded organisations to come together, build relationships, and connect with people they might not usually meet. 
Many attendees swapped contact details, forming connections that will help strengthen the work we all do in supporting those in need.

Volunteer Sewers Needed for Household Sewing Tasks!
Do you enjoy sewing and want to make a difference? We’re looking for volunteers to help with a variety of household sewing tasks to support families at Save the Family. Some of the things we need help with include:
Hemming curtains
Adjusting sheets to fit cot beds
Sewing sausage draft excluders for the winter months
Mending clothing and soft furnishings
… And other simple but essential sewing tasks!
If you can spare an hour, an afternoon, or even want to make it a regular thing, we’d love to hear from you! Every little bit helps make our homes more comfortable for families in need.
