What can grant funding support?
Core costs to ensure the daily running of Save the Family, capital costs, equipment, and project costs to equip our families with the skills and resilience to have positive and fulfilling futures.
Where is your charity located?
Save the Family is located on the outskirts of Chester, in a custom-built rural community with 26 self-contained properties. Our rural location provides our families with a feeling of safety and security, as many of our families have experienced traumatic challenges and are at a point of crisis. We take referrals from across the country, however there are pockets of deprivation in the county our site is based at and many of our families are local.
What is your reserves policy?
The Reserves Policy, adopted by the Trustees, is to ensure there is a level of working capital that protects the continuity of our core work and provide a level of funding for unexpected and unforeseen costs to our assets.
How do you measure your impact?
To record and monitor the work with our families, we have a highly confidential and focused suite of reports. We use an established evidence-based reporting and evaluating framework, Outcome Star and My Star for younger residents, to journey map the need, activity and growth of the individual through the work that takes place. As with all our performance requirements, outcome star data is reported through to the Senior Management Team, and our governance structure which includes a board of trustees and three specialist sub-committees.
What will happen when our grant funding ends?
Our service is ongoing and we receive no statutory funding. Consequently, we operate by resourcing the funding for our support work and overheads through grants, donations, and events.
