Upcoming Events

Save the Family has grown into what it is because of our supporters. Without them, we just wouldn’t be where we are today.

Events help bring people together and get them behind our cause. Whether it’s raising money or awareness, events are a great way of showcasing our work and helping us raise funds.

See below for a great list of events that you can get involved with.

Chester Business Club Charity Walk 2021

Several months ago we were asked if we would like to take part in this year’s charity walk organised by Cheshire Business Club. Sunday morning arrived and the sun was shining! We arrived at Chester Racecourse early and watched supporters from many local and national charities turn up.. Dogs of all shapes and sizes accompanied their owners, who were all dressed in their nominated charity t-shirts.

While we waited for the start of the walk several of the team had their face painted, all eager to get to the first of several refreshment stops.

The walk started and we headed away from the Racecourse towards the Duke’s Drive and the chocolate stop! As we walked towards Eccleston Village Hall the bacon were definitely calling us.

A leisurely walk along the river back towards Chester followed that included a little paddle for the the dogs to cool down!

After 19,000 steps and just under 7 miles, the team arrived back at the Racecourse to receive their certificates! Well done to everyone who took part and thank you for choosing to walk and collect sponsorship for Save the Family.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Chester Business Club for arranging this and the beautiful weather!

Wow, what a day!! After months of design, then many hours of hard work we are proud to say that on the 23rd of November 2018, we finally opened the Sensory Garden. Our dream would never have become a reality without funding and the hard-work of our Corporate Volunteers. They worked for many hours along side our ground staff to produce an amazing space for our residents, staff and volunteers to enjoy for many years to come.

A huge thank you to our funders:

  1. One Stop carriers for Causes
  2. Yorkshire And Clydesdale Bank – Spirit of the Community Award
  3. Tesco Bags of Help

And our Corporate Volunteers:

  1. The Conservation Volunteers
  2. M&S Banking
  3. Lloyds banking Group
  4. The Alchemist

Once all the formalities were over it was time to warm-up with lunch and refreshments courtesy of The Rapid Relief Team.
